There are four short bolt thingies that screw to the CPU socket frame, four longer bolts that screw into the short bolt thingies, four tensioning springs and 4 circlips that don't seem to fit the bolts, The outermost holes on the brackets allign with the LGA 2011 socket mounting holes Also my heat sink is a slightly different shape at the bottom and you couldn't fit one of these X shaped brackets if it came with one Mine brackets do have the three different positioned holes that I can see on the X shaped one on the videos They all have this X shaped mounting bracket, and mine has like 2 U shaped brackets that screw to the heat sink. You would think that fitting a CPU cooler was easy enough, but having looked at a 2 or 3 installation videos, my Hyper 212 EV0 doesn't look quite like the ones in the videos.

The stupid thing is I can't figure out how to fit it.

I have a used Cooler Master 212 Evo CPU cooler from a seller on ebay who said it only has mounting hardware for LGA 2011 - which is fine because that is what my motherboard is. I'm building a gaming PC completely out of second hand parts, trying to get the best performance I can for a low price.
